Octavo HOWTO: Attaching USB serial to the OSD3358TH

The OSD3358TH got released today, and I plan to do a series of how-to’s on it, starting with getting a console connected, and running through .Net Core, Mono, remote development with Visual Studio for Linux, and other topics.

The first one is simple. Although you can telnet or ssh into a USB- or network-attached board, that won’t give you bootup console messages or AM3358 diagnostics. To get those you have to hook up to UART0. Here’s how, using the Adafruit FTDI friend, or any equivalent 3.3V USBserial-to-TTL adapter.
